Astoria of the West.
My visit to the coast would not be complete without checking out Astoria, Oregon.
Astoria is a charming fisherman’s port, established over a century ago,
that has been recently been experiencing a similar gentrification
just like my hometown Astoria, NY.

barandgrill

Locals Rule.
Every town should have a spot like Mary Todd’s Workers Bar & Grill.
A quaint hideaway with cheap drinks, friendly bartenders and
just the right amount of stray sailors and stow-aways.

Goodday Gov’nor.
Sitting at the bar at Buoy Beer Company…
I look straight ahead at this breathtaking view of the Columbia River;
I look to my left and see Kate Brown the Governor of Oregon.

Roadtripping.
Stay tuned:  Next road trip will be in this 1970’s Airstream camper.

A Walk to Remember.
There are some quintessential tourist attractions that you just shouldn’t skip.
Haystack Rock is one of them.

sanddollar

Sanddollars for days.
So many years later, debris from the Japanese tsunami still washes up along the coast.
Amongst all the random treasures was this perfect picturesque shell.

Just when you thought you’d see it all….
