gov ball ’15

Life’s a ball.
Festival go-er’s have been “having a ball” since it’s beginning in 2011 on Governor’s Island.  After relocating to Randall’s Island, not even the infamous downpour of 2013 could stop fans from basking in the glow of music.

Music festivals are about discovering bands, chance encounters, new experiences…
with a side of people watching.

Big-named artists, like Drake, Bjork and Deadmau5 showcase their music with high-tech sets,
laser light shows and some intricate visual graphics.

“Dance like no one is watching.
Love like you’ll never be hurt, Sing like no one is listening, Live like it’s heaven on earth.”  ~William Purkey

Dedicated fans braved the humidity in these Deadmau5 costumes as they proudly posed for photos.

Randall’s Island is for Lovers.
“If music be the food of love, play on.”  ~ William Shakespeare

It’s all fun and games.
One step away from a carnival, Gov Ball has it’s share of novelties.
And no carnival would be complete without a two headed woman.

In the Spotlight
You could hear a pin drop in a crowd of over 40,000 as Dan Auerbach declared
“Everybody knows a broken heart is blind.”  The Black Keys closed out the festival but opened up our hearts.
